Delhi Public Secondary School, Barasat is a co-educational English-medium School following a progressive child-centric education pattern. The school provides holistic learning environment and facilitates communication and interaction between teachers, students and parents. Our school has been able to carve a niche in the field of the city’s educational scenario and this is an apt reflection of the earnest and untiring effort of all concern. Our objective is always to create a happy and healthy environment for the students, to facilitate real education to take place as against empty instructions.This is the reason we always scale up and use existing synergies to grow. We strive to provide more focus to students, to express themselves, to give them more real global exposure and to ensure that they cultivate their individual excellence.

We are committed to involve our parents in our school activities and hence our school organizes an array of activities and events where parents along with their wards find a platform to display their creative and artistic abilities. On Parents Day, events like Sit and Draw Competition allow the parents accompanied by their wards to uncover their natural talents in sketching and illustrations and activity like Flameless Cooking (Sandwich Making) where students of our school enthusiastically participate along with their parents and teacher, bonding together in a new environment. To tap into a child’s natural curiosity, to indulge in storytelling, to allow imaginations to roam freely, we at DPSS also welcome the keepers of tradition, the Grandparents in our school on Grandparents Day with abundance of respect and admiration. They are a formidable force in the personality development of a child.

 

To inculcate in the young minds responsibilities, cooperation, trust, social and environmental awareness and to cater to a  comprehensive education, we at DPSS take a pledge to protect our planet and preserve the environment on Earth Day; celebrate Swachh Bharat Abhiyan playing a pivotal role in infusing the students with the fervour of maintaining cleanliness, importance of hygiene and proper sanitation facilities. With a message to celebrate Eco-friendly Safe and Green Diwali, the Principal, staff and students of DPSS, took up a vow to celebrate Diwali with a social concern. The values like preservation, recycling, conservation, reduce, reuse etc are imbibed on the young heart and minds through Best of Waste Project by demonstrating this noble act of caring for our environment. This year DPSS undertook an online session on Covid Awareness, laying stress on the Dos and Don’ts to be followed by us in this epidemic situation. To stay healthy and improve our immune system DPSS also organised an Online Yoga Session on International Yoga Day involving staff, students and also parents. To bring learning in real world, beyond the boundaries of school ground excursions and tours are a powerful tool and activity. Being an integral part of the school curriculum as they enable students to explore, extend and enrich their learning and social skills development in non-school settings.
